1951 Was A Very Good Year

Collages59-003birthday dreams

frozen in time

youth….

is but a memory

those days are behind

my journey not over

so much more

to explore

all the avenues

so many doors

to open…

new territory

to roam

more time to delve

to far off places

where words tumble

and toss

like pebbles in a brook

where the sun meets with the clouds

and paintball the sky

and the moon greets the stars

and shine together

like glitter

in the night

and I will take

what comes my way

with gratitude

for each and every day..

  1. Is it your birthday? Or close to it? Felicitations, as they used to say! But your poem says it well – every day is a birthday, if we allow ourselves to be reborn to new dreams, new journeys. Lovely poem – and I really like the lavender background with the new header photo. Very spring-like!

    • Hi and thank you! Yes, today is the day and we just got back from a little jaunt to Silverton and had lunch there and I had fun with my camera and polished off a chunk of cake and vanilla ice cream. So good! And March reminds me that it’s time to watch the carbs.. Tomorrow!

  2. Hey. I’m so bad. I have been remembering all month and then this week has been crazy with the procedure and all. Hope you had a great one!!! It better not be over. You have many more doors to open and many more exciting times to experience! Happy Birthday! :)

  3. Happy Belated birthday to you and if 1951 is the year of your birth you are about 2 weeks older than me. :)

  4. Lovely sentiments that ring true for all of us…

  5. Beautiful words Roberta! And a very happy birthday to you too – I hope it was a special day. I so enjoy your posts … thank you!

  6. Hope your birthday was a great one!

  7. Oh, a very very happy birthday wish to you! with so many magical explorations still to come!

I love to fill my spare time with gardening, cooking and travelling, which I hope to share with you! A great day to me is exploring somewhere new and capturing fantastic memories or being at home pottering in my garden and picking fresh ingredients ready to whip up a new culinary creation!
