Words Like Honey

add sweetness to my soul

1951 Was A Very Good Year

Collages59-003birthday dreams

frozen in time

is but a memory

those days are behind

my journey not over

so much more

to explore

all the avenues

so many doors

to open…

new territory

to roam

more time to delve

to far off places

where words tumble

and toss

like pebbles in a brook

where the sun meets with the clouds

and paintball the sky

and the moon greets the stars

and shine together

like glitter

in the night

and I will take

what comes my way

with gratitude

for each and every day..

My age tells me that I am in my golden years. My heart tells me that I am still young and that I have much to contribute to this beautiful and complex world. My faith in God sustains me each step of my journey here on earth, as I continue to explore the world through the lens of my camera.

  1. Is it your birthday? Or close to it? Felicitations, as they used to say! But your poem says it well – every day is a birthday, if we allow ourselves to be reborn to new dreams, new journeys. Lovely poem – and I really like the lavender background with the new header photo. Very spring-like!

    • Hi and thank you! Yes, today is the day and we just got back from a little jaunt to Silverton and had lunch there and I had fun with my camera and polished off a chunk of cake and vanilla ice cream. So good! And March reminds me that it’s time to watch the carbs.. Tomorrow!

  3. Happy Belated birthday to you and if 1951 is the year of your birth you are about 2 weeks older than me. :)
